Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...
Today is a beautiful day here in Athens... The smell of cold and smoking chimneys, the calm winter scenery, the blinking lights in the neighborhood's streets...all these things evoke memories of past Christmas times and the hope that snow is soon to come! I find my self mumbling this old Christmas song: "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow"!
Since they fit perfectly to the mood of the day, I post here my snowmen earrings with the hope that my wish will come true in any moment...
The snowmen are approximately 2cm long.

The Om lamp
This is a gift for my passionate yoga instructor Katerina, who recently opened her own studio, a small zen paradise devoted to body and mind focus! It is (something like) a mandala drawn around the "Om" symbol (in Devanagari), depicting the birth and resurrection of the soul.
Katerina, I wish you the best of luck!

With lights on:
Scanned: (wow, it looks much clearer)
If you want to visit Katerina's page (if you live in Athens and you need a body and mind recourse) I place here the appropriate links:

The stylish penguin!
I've already stated how much I enjoyed needle felting! Now that the clock is ticking backwards and Christmas is almost there, I decided to make a special needle felting present to one of my sisters, Vasso!
I have five sisters and a brother. Vasso is the "fashion icon" of our family! She doesn't follow fashion, she creates her own distinctive version of it! She looks chic even when she is in her pajamas! The penguin, being the most stylish animal in nature is the perfect match for Vasso's unique temperament!
So, here is my Christmas present for you, dear Vasso! I know you know but "whatever you do, do it with style"!!!
The penguin (with its hat) stands 9cm tall, while including the box it reaches to 15cm height. I used liquid glass, blue paint and glitter to create the ice rink!

Christmas time!!!!
I haven't been able to post anything for a while! The reason for that is that my daily job keeps me really busy at times! Like this time of the year!
I'm a visual merchandiser and the manager of the window display team for a children clothes chain that owns over 40 stores in Greece and elsewhere! Christmas is our pick period! Trees and lights and Christmas balls and a 12 to 13 hours long workday is what is needed to bring the Christmas atmosphere out to the streets!!! It's hard! But when the result is satisfying we feel like some kind of Christmas elves that managed to bring a smile on children's faces! It's so rewarding to see their amazement as they're staring at our Christmas scene with their mouth and hands latched onto the window glass!

The tailor squirrel
I'm self-taught in almost everything that I do. Sometimes this results to the poor execution of the crafting methods which I dare to try out and consequently to some monstrous creations that I'm not at all eager to post on my blog!!!!
But this was not the case with needle felting!!! I fell in love with the needle felted animals that I saw on net and decided to take my chances! I bought all the necessary materials, watched some tutorials on youtube and got started. The process was sooo relaxing and easy! I enjoyed it so much!
So, here is my first needle felted creature! I present you my tailor squirrel! He is quite handsome -at least if you take under consideration that he is the first of his kind!
Now, for a closer look...
..from the left...
...and from the right!
And detailed photos as he turns from left to right...
He is 10cm tall from head to toes. The spool adds another 8cm to his height. Isn't he a true gentleman?
